What’s the difference between Olympic Weightlifting and strength training?

Olympic weightlifting is a sport and focuses on two lifts: the snatch and the clean and jerk. They’re fast movements requiring a lot of mobility.

Strength training covers just about everything else you can do with a barbell: squats, deadlifts, presses etc. It’s great if you’re looking to get stronger or improve in your sport if you’re an athlete from another discipline

It’s also extremely good for your health. Especially as you get older it’s important to lift to ward off osteoporosis and sarcopenia (age-related muscle wastage).
